The Standard Award

Engineering students at the benchThe Standard Award is open to all British engineering undergraduates for the duration of your degree.

It is designed to further develop your interest in engineering as a career through a series of activities and short courses organised by The Royal Academy of Engineering.

These vary each year, but may include courses about relief-work, renewable energy technology or project management. Many are held at the Royal Academy of Engineering in London. See a list of the courses for 2010.

A Standard Award entitles you to apply to take part in these courses, with the cost of the course covered by the Royal Academy of Engineering.

You are also entitled to apply to take part in outward bound-type West Country Initiative and Leadership (WILD) courses held on Dartmoor.

You may also apply for a £300 work experience grant.
