Christopher Pritchard received his Award in March 2005. Christopher’s mission is to use Engineering to deliver significant global humanitarian benefits to society.

Christopher received his Masters in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford in 2007 with First Class Honours. He also spent a year studying at Princeton University, USA. Christopher was awarded prizes for academic achievements by both institutions.

Christopher held leadership positions at the Ixtatán Foundation and Engineers Without Borders throughout Latin America, implementing technical and educational solutions to raise rural community living standards.

“With an engineering education, I feel there is a great deal I can contribute towards the development of communities such as San Mateo Ixtatán. The experiences I gained provided me with the drive to pursue engineering as a mechanism for change.”

Christopher also gained experience of Asia’s emerging economies, investigating the major managerial challenges faced by India’s largest corporations at the Satyam School of Leadership.

Christopher is currently completing a joint Ph.D./MBA in Chemical Engineering and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is R&D Manager for an MIT and Harvard Medical School start-up, working to provide patients with the world’s first restorative treatment for Spinal Cord Injury and paralysis.
