Emma
Kent received her award in March 2005. Emma
studied Civil Engineering at Nottingham University
and graduated with a First Class MEng.
Emma used her award to carry
out a CAD course, a placement with Buro Happold, a
Dubai construction conference and a visit to China
whilst completing a 4 week language course in
Mandarin.
Emma has benefited from the
award in many ways:
“The Engineering Leadership
Award meant prestige. First and foremost I had The
Royal Academy of Engineering on my CV”
“The financial support I
needed to reach my goals”
“Meeting other young
enthusiastic engineers”
“Make some very valuable
industry links”
Emma now works as a Graduate
Structural Engineer for Buro Happold as a result of
her placement from the Engineering Leadership Award.
She intends to develop herself further by attending
the Executive Engineers Programme offered by The
Royal Academy of Engineering.
