Case Studies
Paul Cooper received his Award
in March 2003. Paul studied Mechanical Engineering
at Imperial College in London and, on graduating with
a First Class MEng degree, outlined the following
benefits derived from his Award:

Paul has worked on
agricultural mechanization implement development in
Romania and travelled to Spain for a two-week
intensive Spanish course. He has participated in a
course organised by Registered Engineers for
Disaster Relief and undertaken a Smallpeice
Leadership Skills course. He attended the
Conference: “People at the Heart of Leadership”.
During the summer of 2005 Paul visited Japan, based
at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He assisted the
Senior Minister for Science and Technology, studied
Japanese and visited many world leading Japanese
engineering companies.
Currently Paul works for the
Rail Group of Hitachi Europe Limited, helping to
deliver the CTRL-DS Hitachi High Speed Trains and
building cross cultural relationships with Japanese
engineers and European suppliers.
